In the critical early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, Philanthropy Worldwide launched the #PROTECTOURFRONTLINE initiative, recognizing that personal protective equipment (PPE) was vital to safeguard our healthcare workers against the relentless spread of the virus. We mobilized swiftly, sourcing and distributing over 50,000 masks and other essential PPE to the heroes on the front lines across the nation. Our efforts underscored the power of collective action and the profound impact of protecting those who protect us. Join us as we continue to honor and support our healthcare workers' safety and resilience.
This initiative emerged as a powerful response to the surge in anti-Asian sentiment, focusing on providing safety kits to the elderly and vulnerable while fostering community resilience through storytelling and advocacy. This multifaceted campaign not only equipped at-risk individuals with tools for protection but also amplified AAPI voices, celebrating cultural heritage and challenging racism through podcasts, events, and educational dialogue. Our New York City event, a highlight of AAPI Heritage Month, epitomized the initiative's spirit, uniting diverse voices in a collective stand against discrimination and reinforcing our unwavering commitment to inclusivity and safety for all.
