Solidarity and Safety: The RainHaus - Uplift AAPI Voices Initiative

In the wake of rising challenges faced by the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, we launched the RainHaus - Uplift AAPI Voices initiative, a beacon of hope and solidarity. This initiative was born out of an urgent need to address the surge in racially motivated incidents and to foster a sense of safety and belonging for AAPI individuals. Through RainHaus, we sought not only to raise awareness but also to take tangible steps towards protecting the vulnerable and amplifying the rich narratives of the AAPI experience.

The importance of the RainHaus initiative lay in its dual purpose: to equip those in danger with safety kits and to combat the roots of racism through education and dialogue. We understood that to make a real difference, we had to go beyond mere conversation. Philanthropy Worldwide, in partnership with local organizations, successfully distributed 2,000 safety kits to the elderly and at-risk members of the AAPI community. These kits were symbols of protection and a reminder that they were not alone in their struggle.

But RainHaus was more than just a distribution effort; it was a campaign that brought the stories of the AAPI community to the forefront. By sharing these narratives through various platforms, including a dedicated podcast and live events, we celebrated the diversity and resilience of AAPI cultures. These stories served as powerful tools to dismantle stereotypes, build empathy, and inspire action against the injustices of racism.

RainHaus also organized community events and fostered environments where AAPI voices could be heard and celebrated. Our flagship event in New York City, held during AAPI Heritage Month, was a testament to the strength and unity of the community. It provided a space for cultural exchange, understanding, and recognition of the invaluable contributions of the AAPI community to the fabric of society.

RainHaus - Uplift AAPI Voices initiative marked a significant stride in Philanthropy Worldwide's commitment to social justice and community support. By standing with the AAPI community, we sent a clear message: acts of racism and violence have no place in our society. Our collective efforts have not only made individuals feel safer but have also contributed to the broader movement of reducing racism and promoting inclusivity. As we continue to build on this momentum, we invite you to join us in this vital cause, ensuring that every voice is heard, every story is valued, and every individual is protected.

We did it!

We want to thank everyone again who helped us at @therainhaus throw a fundraiser to raise awareness and stand together during tough times. We had amazing speakers & performers as well as donations from generous sponsors for raffles, food & drinks. We couldn't have done it without all our wonderful volunteers. Following that event we accomplished our goal and distributed 2,000 safety kits throughout NY.
